He Gives Peace

It doesn’t seem fair,

How could this happen?

Families shouldn’t have to go through so much pain.

But in the midst of all the sorrow,

We can know that God is still by our sides

(Chorus)

He gives us peace

That passes understanding.

He gives us strength

When we cannot go on

He gives us comfort

When we are hurting

He is by our side

When we are all alone

He’s our God, and He is here.

(Verse 2)

The hurting is as its worse.

And the tears fill up our eyes.

We feel like we have lost everything.

Still in the midst of all the pain,

We can know that God is still by our sides.

For He’s our God, and He is here.

This one was written on Christmas day 2009, on the way to a funeral home. One of the few darkest days of my life. The day after my oldest sister passed away from pneumonia. I didn't understand why this could happen to our family, and family who loved God with all our hearts. But all the while one verse kept going in my head "He gives peace that passes all understanding..."
